Lambton crude oil Crushers Roller Derby team will be Hosting there first ever 1 day tournament here at the RBC Centre on Saturday March 3, 2012. The ladies of the Crude Oil Crushers are Sarnia Lambton's first Roller Derby team.
Roller derby is a contact sport played by two teams of five member’s roller skating in the same direction around a track. Game play consists of a series of short matchups ("jams") in which both teams designate a scoring player (the "jammer") who scores points by lapping members of the opposing team. The teams attempt to assist their own jammer while hindering the opposing jammer —in effect playing both offense and defense simultaneously. Roller derby is played by more than 1,000 amateur leagues on every inhabited continent.
This Tournament will host 3 teams as well as The Crude Oil Crushers. The other teams involved will be the Windsor team Border City Brawlers, The Port Huron Team Bluewater Derby Girls and the Guelph Team the Royal City Roller Girls.
The 1 Day - All day Event will take place on March 3, 2012 from 9am - 10pm, 1 ticket will gain you All Day access and will be sold for $30.00. Children under 10 will be Free with a Donation to the Sarnia Humane Society. Tickets will go On Sale to the Public on Thursday, November 17th, 2011 at 9:00am
